Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana took a mind-blowing catch, diving to her left at short third man to dismiss Australian captain Alyssa Healy for a duck in the first ODI between India Women and Australia Women at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The incident took place in the very first over of Australia’s innings. Renuka Thakur opened the bowling for India and was right on the money from the very first ball.

In the third delivery, Renuka bowled it fuller and wide outside the off-stump, and Healy, standing outside the crease, attempted to slash it hard but only managed to edge it wide of the slips.

Rana, who was positioned in the short third man, flew to her left, grabbed the ball with both hands and pulled off an absolute screamer.

The Wankhede crowd erupted as India got an early breakthrough and the all-important wicket of Healy for a duck in the very first over of the innings.

Renuka continues to do wonders with the new ball, providing blows to the opposition early in the powerplay. However, Ellyse Perry, at three, joined Phoebe Litchfield in the middle and wasted no time to launch a counterattack to put the pressure back on the Indians.

At the time of writing this, Australia finished the powerplay on a high, adding 57 on the board without losing any further wickets.

Earlier in the day, after electing to bat first, Harmanpreet Kaur and co posted a formidable 282-run total on the board. Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar were the major contributors with the bat, scoring half-centuries each.
