Mohammed Siraj flattened Punjab Kings’ rising resistance against RCB’s 241-run total at Dharamsala in match number 58 of IPL 2024. After going wicketless in his opening spell, the speedster demolished Punjab Kings’ lower-order to finish with match-winning figures of 3-43 from four overs.

Siraj also landed the finishing blow by packing up number 11 batter Arshdeep Singh. Interestingly, the RCB pacer celebrated the occasion with much fervor, as he channeled his inner Suryakumar Yadav and Cristiano Ronaldo to pull off a near-perfect ‘Calma’ celebration.

Defending 242 for a win, RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was clattered all around the park by Punjab Kings opener Jonny Bairstow and number three Rilee Rossouw in the opening powerplay. However, the speedster roared back into his usual groove in one of his return spells later in the game.

Courtesy of a dramatic Punjab Kings collapse orchestrated by Karn Sharma and Lockie Ferguson, the hosts slipped to 151-6 in 13.4 overs. Emboldened by RCB’s late advantage, Mohammed Siraj piled on the momentum and claimed three of the final four wickets on offer.

The speedster also dismissed Punjab Kings’ number 11 Arshdeep Singh to seal the deal for the RCB by 60 runs. As it turned out, Siraj celebrated the occasion by pulling out a near-perfect ‘Calma’ celebration, as once attempted by Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav in an IPL game from 2020.

Mohammed Siraj finished his spell with figures of 3-43 from his four overs.

The outcome marked RCB’s fourth win in succession and fifth of the IPL 2024 season, as they continue to keep their playoffs dreams alive. They will now face Delhi Capitals on May 12 at Bengaluru in match number 62 of the tournament.
