[Watch] Shubman Gill Does His Trademark Celebration After Fifth ODI Century

Shubman Gill kept India's hopes alive against Bangladesh in their final Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Friday (September 15) at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Despite having little backing from his teammates after coming to chase a challenging 266, the 24-year-old maintained his cool during his stay.

As a result, the talented opener scored his fifth ODI hundred, accomplishing the achievement in his 32nd 50-over game. He played with style and grace, smashing six fours and four sixes before getting to his three-digit mark.

The "Prince," as Gill is affectionately known, bowed down towards the dressing room after getting there, like he has done every time he reaches a personal milestone since the IPL 2023. Even Virat Kohli imitated him after hitting his Test hundred in the West Indies, as well as in India's previous fixture against Pakistan.



However, India have plenty to do at the time of writing in order to complete a memorable chase. The Men in Blue require 67 runs off the final 47 balls, with only four wickets in hand. Shubman Gill is going strong on 114* off 129 balls, whereas Axar Patel is on 9*, from 15 balls.
