In the 14th match of the IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians faced off against Rajasthan Royals at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With Sanju Samson winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals opted to bowl first, hoping to capitalize on the pitch's tendency to favor chasing teams. 

Mumbai Indians, led by skipper Hardik Pandya, found themselves in a challenging situation after losing crucial wickets early in their innings.

Hardik Pandya, determined to steer his team out of trouble, showcased glimpses of his prowess by scoring 34 runs alongside Tilak Varma. However, Mumbai Indians' hopes suffered another blow as Pandya departed, making way for Piyush Chawla to take the crease. 

Chawla managed to add 3 runs off 6 balls before being dismissed by Avesh Khan.

The wickets continued to tumble for Mumbai Indians, with Avesh Khan's dismissal of Piyush Chawla further denting their prospects. With Tilak Varma standing as the last hope for Mumbai Indians to salvage a respectable total, the pressure mounted on the young batsman to deliver.

However, Varma's innings was short-lived as he departed in the 12th over, leaving Mumbai Indians in a precarious position. Avesh Khan struck again, this time aided by a spectacular catch from Hetmyer, as Varma's dismissal further deepened Mumbai Indians' woes.

As the scoreboard read 83/6 in 11.1 overs, Mumbai Indians found themselves struggling to put up a competitive total against a resurgent Rajasthan Royals.
