In a disappointing turn of events for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), debutant Arshin Kulkarni's much-awaited opportunity in IPL 2024 ended in a swift departure during the match against Mumbai Indians at Ekana Stadium.

Tasked with chasing down MI's formidable total of 144, Kulkarni stepped onto the field with high hopes alongside KL Rahul. However, his debut innings was short-lived as Nuwan Thushara, who had been struggling with form, claimed his wicket in the very first over of the match.

The 19-year-old batsman attempted to make his mark but fell victim to Thushara's delivery, resulting in a golden duck on his IPL debut. His dismissal came amidst a contentious LBW appeal by MI captain Hardik Pandya, which was initially turned down by the umpire.

A closer examination through DRS revealed the delivery to be plumb, leading to Kulkarni's departure. His attempt to push the ball into the on-side ended with him being beaten on the outside edge, wearing it on the front pad in front of the stumps.

Despite initial reluctance from the umpire, Pandya's decision to review the call proved crucial, with the ball tracking confirming three reds.

Thus, Arshin Kulkarni's maiden IPL innings concluded abruptly with a golden duck, leaving LSG at 46/1 in 6 overs
