In a high-scoring game of the PSL 2024 season, Colin Munro of Islamabad United smoked a massive six off Usama Mir's bowling to reach his half-century in a mere 23 deliveries in a challenging 229-run chase.

Multan Sultans mocked Islamabad United's bowling lineup by scoring 228 runs in the first innings earlier today.

After a strong start from openers Yasir Khan and Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan slammed his second hundred of the tournament to guide the Sultans to a formidable total.

Meanwhile, in the steep chase, Islamabad United suffered early blows, having lost two wickets inside the powerplay. However, Colin Munro recouped the momentum towards Islamabad United with a counter onslaught.

Munro had pulled up his hamstring in between and seemed in significant discomfort. However, the batter refused to leave the team hanging and continued to bat.

After the hamstring pull, Munro activated beast mode to put Multan Sultans' bowlers under pressure. Colin executed beautiful strokes against Mohammad Ali and Chris Jordan.

With the momentum slipping, Rizwan introduced Usama Mir back into the attack. But Munro seemed invincible on the crease. He foiled Rizwan's plan by smashing a 100-meter six over deep mid-wicket off Usama's fuller ball.

Next, an underpressure Mir ended up bowling a slot delivery to gift yet another maximum to Munro. The six disappeared over the long-on boundary, and Munro raised his bat to celebrate his half-century, which he achieved in a mere 23 deliveries.

It was a moment of sheer relief for Colin Munro, who had been struggling this PSL season. His fabulous knock and priceless cameos from Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim helped Islamabad gun down the target on the final ball of the game.
