If you’re a captain, you must lead by example to inspire others. Rilee Rossouw did exactly that on Tuesday (March 12) during Quetta Gladiators’ PSL 2024 clash against Multan Sultans in Karachi.

In a dead rubber fixture before which places in the competiton's Qualifer 1 have already been confirmed, Mohamamad Rizwan, the Multan’s skipper, played a superb knock against Quetta, having scored 69 off 46 balls with the help of four sixes and one four. He was about to give his side a fitting finish, but Mohammad Amir returned to the attack to shatter his hopes.

During the 17th over of Multan’s innings, Amir bowled an off-cutter on a good length region which pitched at outside the off stump. Rizwan attempted to send him downtown, only to miscue it down the ground. Placed at mid-off, Rossouw back-tracked and took a superb catch after keeping his eyes on the ball.

Meanwhile, Multan finished strongly, having posted 185/4 at the end of the innings with Iftikhar Ahmed scoring an unbeaten knock of 8-ball 20. Johnson Charles played an important role as well, scoring 53 off 29 balls, while Usman Khan had a rare bad outing with a struggling 23-ball 21.
