In World Cups, Mitchell Starc and his yorkers are a match made in heaven. However, the left-arm quick, who had a terrific track record in the showpiece events over the course of two editions, did not have great outings in Australia’s first two matches of the ongoing World Cup in India.

Starc finally got back to his vintage form on Monday (October 16) while facing Sri Lanka at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

More significantly, the deadly yorkers, for which he is particularly famous, were back in Lucknow as well. And Lahiru Kumara was there at the receiving end.

It was the fifth ball of the 41st over by Starc which speared in sharply to Kumara. The Sri Lankan had no chance to tackle it before the ball rattled the stumps.

Starc had a satisfying smile on his face after pulling that off. The southpaw was not having greatest of outings lately, but he seemed pleased after castling Kumara in that way.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka collapsed from 157/1 to 209 all out after opting to bat. Starc finished with 2/43, whereas Adam Zampa did the most damage, claiming 4/47.
