Nuwan Thushara, the 29-year-old speedster was bought by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 auction for 4.8 crores and ahead of the IPL 2024, he is proving his credentials on the international stage. He has bamboozled Bangladesh with a stunning hat-trick in the third T20I between Bangladesh and England and has once again reaffirmed his quality as a genuine wicket-taker.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first in a hope of chasing down the target in the second innings. Sri Lanka managed to score 174 in the first innings and Bangladesh would have hoped for a good start to their chase. However, they lost Litton Das in the third over and then Thushara in the fourth over of the innings wreaked havoc by removing Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy and Mahmudullah on consecutive deliveries.

Najmul Hossain Shanto was cleaned up on a length delivery which kept a bit low and was completely bamboozled. Towhid Hridoy was the next one to depart as the ball swung away late and managed to beat his defensive blade.

The hat-trick ball was also straight as an arrow on the line of the stumps and Mahmudullah had no answer as he was struck in front after being completely squared up. He took the DRS but it did not help his cause and Bangladesh were left shell-shocked.

Nuwan Thushara got the better of Soumya Sarkar in the 6th over and in the first spell, he bowled three overs with one maiden and seven runs for four wickets.
