Stylish Indian batter Shreyas Iyer had a tremendous outing in the second ODI against Australia in Indore. Coming at number three, Iyer hammered the Australian bowlers all around the park to notch a scintillating hundred at a blistering strike rate. However, the Mumbaikar got out immediately after unlocking the milestone, as Matthew Short held on to a blinder, putting an end to his stay in the middle.

After being put into bat, India had a shaky start, with Josh Hazlewood getting rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad in the fourth over.

However, the swashbuckling duo of Iyer and Shubman Gill steadied the ship for India, stitching a crucial 200-run stand for the second wicket. Both batters completed scintillating tons in this process, keeping Australia at bay in the first half of the game.

However, experienced seamer Sean Abbott finally brought a sigh of relief to the visitors' camp, dismissing Iyer in the 31st over. It was a good length delivery, as Iyer took the aerial route only to end up getting out, thanks to a spectacular catch by Matthew Short.

Riding on the fireworks from Gill and Iyer, India have raced to 236 for two in 34.1 overs. As of writing, skipper KL Rahul and Gill have held the fort for India, batting on 11* and 104*, respectively.
