Yashasvi Jaiswal had a stellar 2023 season and was in tremendous form before IPL 2024 in international cricket, so naturally a lot was expected from the left-hander in the ongoing 17th edition of the marquee league. However, he has not been able to live upto his billing so far, and in RR's third match of the season against MI, he departed cheaply again.

The southpaw scored 10 off 6 balls with two fours in it, but on the very last ball of the first over, he handed a maiden IPL wicket to the 17-year-old Kwena Maphaka.

It was a fullish delivery on the off-stump line. However, not an overpitched delivery by any stretch of imagination but Yashasvi Jaiswal still went for an expansive drive. He ended up hitting it aerially and the ball went straight to Tim David at covers.

Yashasvi Jaiswal naturally was pretty disappointed after losing his wicket and Kwena Maphaka who had a tough outing in the first game, finally got something to cheer about in his IPL career.

However, even after that early wicket, RR are still in great position at the time of writing, with Buttler and Sanju Samson batting cautiously in their short run-chase of 126.
