Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur curtailed Tahlia McGrath's threatening resistance late on Day 3 of their one-off Test match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kaur employed herself to bowl in the day's final session against the brewing fourth-wicket partnership between McGrath and Australian skipper Alyssa Healy.

Just as Australia found their way back into the game with a hard-earned lead, Kaur dealt a massive blow to the visitor's late resurgence with twin strikes.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur struck big in her opening over of the innings by trapping Australia's well-set number four Tahlia McGrath. Kaur tasked herself to bowl the 72nd over in the day's final session after McGrath's fighting half-century had helped Australia Women overcome their huge first-innings deficit.

In just the fifth ball of her spell, Kaur breached McGrath's forward defence with a sharp turn that sneaked through to disturb her leg stump.

Harmanpreet Kaur also removed her opposite number, Alyssa Healy, a while late to worsen Australian troubles at 221-5.

Earlier in the day, off-spinner Sneh Rana accounted for Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry after Team India folded up for 406 in their first innings.

The hosts secured a colossal 187-run lead owing to their first innings batting effort after Rana and new-ball speedster Pooja Vastrakar had dusted away the Australians for just 219 within the opening day of the match itself.
