Experienced English seamer Tymal Mills grabbed a million eyeballs on Saturday, recording a spectacular hattrick for Southern Brave against Welsh Fire in The Hundred 2023. The left-arm pacer rattled the Fire's batting lineup through his crafty bowling, helping the Brave register their second win of the season. 

After being put into bat first, Welsh Fire had a disastrous start to their innings, as Craig Overton and George Garton ran through their top order, showcasing an exhibition of classical seam bowling. When Stephen Eskinazi and Glenn Phillips tried to form a consolidating stand, Mills arrived as their nemesis, dismissing the latter for 12. 

However, the icing on the cake was the left-arm seamer's hattrick, the second-ever in the tournament's history, as he got rid of Ben Green, Haris Rauf and David Payne in successive deliveries of the final set.

Riding on Mills' exceptional spell, Southern Brave restricted Welsh Fire to a paltry 87 in 100 deliveries. In response, the swashbuckling Kiwi duo of Finn Allen and Devon Conway struck quick-fire cameos, as the visitors chased the total with nine wickets and 41 balls to spare. 

Southern Brave are placed third in The Hundred 2023 points table and will take on Birmingham Phoenix at home on August 16.
