Punjab Kings' premier spinner Rahul Chahar provided his team with a much-needed breakthrough during their ongoing IPL 2024 encounter against Lucknow Super Giants, castling Marcus Stoinis with a ripper.

The incident occurred during the ninth over of LSG's innings when Punjab Kings' captain Shikhar Dhawan brought Chahar into the attack to break the budding stand between Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis.

The call proved to be a masterstroke, as the wrist-spinner got rid of Stoinis with a well-disguised delivery.

Chahar had a rough start to the over, as Stoinis hit him for two massive sixes on the second and third ball, respectively.

However, the wily tweaker bounced back remarkably, cleaning up the Aussie batter, who was looking set in the middle.

It was a back of the length delivery from Chahar, which turned into Stoinis, prompting him to bring out a pull shot. However, the veteran Australian all-rounder was comprehensively beaten, with the ball uprooting his leg stump.

After getting Stoinis' wicket, Chahar celebrated aggressively, giving Pooran a revengeful send off. Even PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan was elated, clapping and celebrating with his troops.

Stand-in skipper Nicholas Pooran joined De Kock in the middle after Stoinis' departure. As of writing, LSG were cruising towards a sizeable score, placed at 115 for three in 12 overs.
