[Watch] David Warner Involved In 'Furious Exchange' With Lahiru Kumara In AUS Vs SL Face-Off

Riding on bowlers' exceptional performance, Australia restricted Sri Lanka to a paltry 209-run total in their third group-stage match in the ongoing World Cup. Chasing 210, Australian openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh hit a few boundaries before a heated exchange took place between the former and ace Sri Lankan speedster Lahiru Kumara.

Playing his first match in the World Cup, Kumara opened the bowling for Sri Lanka in this game. After conceding seven runs in his first four deliveries, the pacer was stopped midway in his run-up by Warner as someone walked in front of the sight screen.

As anyone would expect from a fast bowler, Kumara seemed displeased with Warner's withdrawal in the final moment, questioning his action through his gestures. Warner also replied rudely, with on-field umpire eventually stepping up to calm things down.

Following the incident, Warner concluded the over in style, hammering Kumara for an audacious six over the square leg fence. However, he couldn't convert his start into a big score, being dismissed for a six-ball eleven by Dilshan Madushanka.

The swashbuckling southpaw was furious on being declared LBW as the ball was found just kissing his leg stump in the replay.

As of writing, Australia are 24 for one in 3.5 overs, with Marsh and Steve Smith batting on 13* and 0*, respectively.
