David Warner's batting prowess in IPL 2024 took a hit during the 26th match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). After a strong start by Lucknow, posting a challenging target of 168, Warner's early departure added a twist to the game.

Facing the fiery pace of LSG's young sensation, Yash Thakur, Warner's innings was cut short at just 8 runs off 9 balls. Thakur's delivery angled across from outside off, catching Warner off guard. 

Despite attempting to force the ball into the fine leg region, Warner was too late to adjust as the ball hit his pad, elbow, and then rolled onto the stumps.

This dismissal was reminiscent of Warner's previous injury, further highlighting the danger posed by Thakur's bowling. 

The left-handed opener's attempt to flick the ball off his pads only resulted in it looping towards the stumps, leaving Warner helpless.

With Warner's departure, DC's batting lineup faced early pressure, but Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk steadied the ship, keeping the scoreboard ticking. 

At 60 for 1 in 6 overs, DC showed resilience despite the setback.
