English all-rounder Chris Jordan blasted a 17-ball half-century for Hobart Hurricanes in match number nine of the ongoing 2023-24 Big Bash League (BBL) season. Arriving to the crease with mere five overs left in the innings, the cricketer launched five boundaries and six sixes against Perth Scorchers to elevate the Hurricanes total to a competitive 172-8 by the end of their 20 overs.

Jordan was eventually dismissed by Andrew Tye in the last ball of the innings after top scoring for his side with 59 runs from just 20 balls.

Chris Jordan goes berserk after IPL 2024 snub

England’s T20 veteran Chris Jordan pummeled Perth Scorchers with a 20-ball 59 to turbo-charge Hobart Hurricanes innings to 172-8 in their must-win BBL 2023-24 game at Perth. The 35-year-old took a special liking to Andrew Tye, until he was dismissed by the Australian speedster in the last ball of the innings.

Notably, Chris Jordan found no takers at the IPL 2024 auction in UAE just a day before his belligerent batting effort in BBL. The Englishman registered his name for the auction after he was released by the Mumbai Indians franchise back in November 2023.

Jordan was part of the Mumbai Indians camp under Rohit Sharma in IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons, after having represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings franchises for two years each between the 2017 and 2021 editions of the tournament.

Jordan also blasted an astonishing 32-ball 70 for the Southern Brave in their must-win match against Welsh Fire in this year’s Men’s The Hundred 2023 season in England.

The Barbados-born player holds an elite experience of over 300 T20 matches, including 88 international appearances for England. He has collected 342 wickets so far in his career, and has also listed nearly 2,000 runs with the bat at a blistering strike-rate of 130.
