Devon Conway should thank Phil Salt and David Warner in the ongoing IPL match against the Delhi Capitals.
Conway nicked a Khaleel Ahmed delivery back to the keeper, but the crowd noise was so loud that no one heard the sound of the bat.
The incident took place in the 3rd over bowled by Khaleel. On the first delivery, Khaleel pitched one outside the off and Conway went for a rash drive without moving his feet as the ball whistled past the outside-edge. Khaleel heard a noise and immeditely asked Warner to take a review.
However, the keeper - Phil Salt wasn't convinced and stated that he heard no sound. Eventually, skipper Warner went with Salt and decided against the review. However, after a couple of balls, replays showed that there was a faint nick as the ball went past the bat. Warner and the entire DC team were gutted as they missed out on a great opportunity to dismiss CSK's danger man.
Interestingly, a few overs later, Conway again survived a close lbw shout.
At the time of writing, CSK are 31 for no loss at the end of 4 overs. Conway is batting at 10 and Gaikwad is unbeaten at 17.
