Pakistan legend Shoaib Malik bowled just one over during his side’s much-hyped faceoff with Khulna Tigers in Match 6 of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2024 (BPL 2024) season.

As it turned out, the cricketer conceded 18 runs from his six legitimate deliveries, and sent down three huge no-balls in the process as Fortune Barishal lost the game by eight wickets at Mirpur.

Malik, who joined the Fortune Barishal camp mere days after his third marriage, delivered three big no-balls in the space of an over when his side went up against Khulna Tigers in match number six of the 2024 BPL season.

Khulna Tigers’ West Indies-based opening batter Evin Lewis made the most out of Malik’s constant bowling errors as he bludgeoned 18 runs of the over on his way to shaping up a match-winning 22-ball 53.

Earlier in the game, Fortune Barishal tallied a monumental 187-4 from their 20 overs off the back of a sizzling 68* from senior man Mushfiqur Rahim. Captain Tamim Iqbal also compiled 40 at the top before Mahmudullah added crucial runs in the death.

After Mahmudullah’s dismissal, Shoaib Malik at number six managed to score just five unbeaten runs off the six deliveries he faced during the final two overs of the innings.

Khulna Tigers, in response, mowed down the colossal total with ease with captain Anamul Haque and overseas opener Evin Lewis both cracking sparkling half-centuries at the top.
