Ruturaj Gaikwad Surpasses MS Dhoni To Script This Unimaginable Record in IPL 2024

If there's one statement that has been true this IPL 2024 season, it's that: records are meant to be broken! And one such record has been broken by none other than Chennai Super Kings' new skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad. The star opener, broke former CSK captain, MS Dhoni's record of scoring most runs by a CSK captain in a single IPL season. 



Over the years, Gaikwad has been a phenomenal player in IPL, he has scored 2244 runs so far with two centuries and 17 half centuries. 

As stunning as a player he is, Gaikwad initially failed to fire with bat but after his first century of the season against Lucknow SuperGiants, he seems to be back in form as he missed out on another century by just two runs against Pat Cummins and co. in their last game at Chepauk.

The five-time IPL winning legendary captain MS Dhoni has numerous records to his name. Back in 2013, he scored 461 runs which is the maximum by any captain in a single IPL season until today. This year, before the commencement of IPL 2024 season, Dhoni passed the baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad to lead one of IPL's most coveted franchise of all time.
