Ishant Sharma Ruled Out Of IPL 2024? Pacer Leaves Ground Midway After Fearsome Ankle Twist

In the ongoing IPL match on Saturday, Delhi Capitals faced a big blow during their IPL 2024 opener against Punjab Kings after veteran pacer Ishant Sharma limped off the field. The veteran bowler twisted his ankle while fielding and went down with a lot of pain at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. 

The injury took place in the final over of the powerplay as he was assisted by two of Delhi Capitals support staff on his way out.

Ishant Sharma Injured

Ishant Sharma slipped on the ground as he was trying to save a boundary. Immediately after the injury, the physio came out for treatment. Praveen Dubey came in as a substitute fielder. 

Earlier facing the injury, Ishant Sharma pulled Delhi Capitals back in the game after dismissing Shikhar Dhawan and running out Jonny Bairstow in the same over. 

The lanky bowler in the fourth over forced Shikhar Dhawan to play a reckless shot led to his downfall and in the same over Jonny Bairstow was run-out in an unfortunate manner. 

DC scored 174 in 20 overs after a great performance Abishek Porel who smashed 32 off just 10 balls. 

At the time of writing Punjab Kings have scored 136/4.
