Talking about the match, it was a low-scoring thriller as the trio of Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad and Sai Kishore bagged seven wickets between them to restrict Punjab Kings to just 142. The home team did get off to a good start, but once the first wicket fell, things got pretty difficult on a slow and low pitch. Prabhsimran Singh with 35 runs in the Powerplay was the highest run-scorer for Punjab, but it was Harpreet Brar's cameo off 29 that gave Punjab a total they can fight with.

In reply, GT adopted a cautious approach and Liam Livingstone got two big wickets of Shubman Gill and David Miller in quick succession to put Punjab back in the game. Captain Sam Curran and Harshal Patel then joined the party and the equation was brought down to 38 off 24 balls. The next two overs though went for 33 runs and the game was done and dusted there with Tewatia once again showing his finishing might.
