The Eliminator of the SA20 2024 will see Paarl Royals (PR) face off against Joburg Super Kings (JSK) at the Wanderers, Johannesburg. This is a crucial game for both sides and the one who wins will meet the loser from Qualifier 1. The action is slated to begin at 9:00 PM IST.

The Super Kings managed to just eke past the finishing line and enter the playoff stages. They needed a win  in their last game and their formidable batting overhauled the chase. They finished with 17 points after winning three games and finished fourth on the league table. Meanwhile, the Paarl Royals finished third in the league table with 22 points from ten matches. They won  five games but had a poor time in the latter half of the league stage- managing to win just one out of their last five games.

PR vs JSK, Eliminator- Toss Factor

The Wanderers has seen some high scoring totals in the coveted event. The last game saw over 400 runs being scored and hence this can be termed as a batting unit. Most of the games played here this season has been won by the side batting second.  The pacers tend to enjoy more here but the spinners get decent turn as well.

Scenario:  If Joburg Super Kings field first

The Super Kings have plenty of match winners but not all of them clicked throughout the tournament. But their last game saw some of the batter come into form and the management would be hoping to see them continue with their momentum.

Scenario: If Paarl Royals field first

The Royals have a demolishing top-order that has the capability to tee any bowler of the world. They also have a very good spin attack but the pace department seems over-dependent on Lungi Ngidi. Also, their middle and lower order have to come good in the must-win encounter.

PR vs JSK, Eliminator- Top Captain and Vice-captain Picks

Scenario: If Joburg Super Kings field first

Jos Buttler (PR): The English top order batter has been in scintillating form with the bat and has accumulated 398 runs from ten matches so far.  He has been top-notch at the top of the order and played measured innings whenever needed.

Leus du Plooy (JSK): The 29-year-old is a very important asset of the team and has carried them through to the playoffs. Du Plooy is the top run-getter for the Super Kings and has gathered 299 runs from nine innings so far.

Scenario: If Paarl Royals field first

Lungi Ngidi (PR): The right-arm pacer is very important to the Royals and has scalped 13 wickets in the tourney thus far. He has very good control of his seam movement and can get good assist of the conditions in the Wanderers. Also, Ngidi has developed a good slower one that outfoxed Faf du Plessis the last time both teams faced off against one another.

Lizaad Williams (JSK): Lizaad Williams resembles a similar type to that of Ngidi. The right-arm pacer gets enough movement off the deck to challenge the edges of the bat most times. He has bagged 15 wickets and is the highest wicket-taker for the Super Kings in the competition.

PR vs JSK, Eliminator- High Risk, High Reward

David Miller (PR): The left-handed batter hasn't fired to his potential in the second edition of SA20. Miller has been going through a lean patch with the bat but time and again he has proved his mettle in this format. It won't be surprising if the captain leads from the front this time around.

Moeen Ali (JSK): The all-rounder can be a utility facet for his team with both the bat and ball in hand. With the surfaces wearing down, Ali's off-breaks could befuddle the opposition. Also, he has been playing some quickfire knocks every now and then.
