Former India and Mumbai Indians (MI) spinner Pragyan Ojha recited a special poem for his ex-teammate and childhood friend Rohit Sharma after the dashing opening batter smashed his fifth hundred in the nerve-wracking third T20I between India and Afghanistan.

After registering two consecutive ducks in the first two matches of the three-game series, Rohit made a spectacular return to form, registering his highest T20I score. While the series had already been secured, Rohit's desire to conclude on a high note was admirable.

Rohit's unbeaten 121 off 69 balls, featuring eight sixes and 11 fours, propelled him to become the player with the most T20I centuries, surpassing Australia's Glenn Maxwell and teammate Suryakumar Yadav, who each have four tons.

Rohit's exceptional innings played a pivotal role in guiding India to a total of 212/4, earning him the well-deserved Player of the Match award for his breathtaking performance.

Following the post-match presentation ceremony, Rohit joined Jio Cinema's Hindi commentary team, which included former India pacer Zaheer Khan and ex-spinner Pragyan Ojha.

Zaheer encouraged Ojha to recite his poem in front of Rohit, inspired by the lines from the poem 'Agneepath' by the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Ojha passionately recited,

"Tu na rukega kabhi, tu na thamega kabhi, tu na jhukega kabhi. Kar Shapath… Agneepath."

Rohit lauded the effort of his former teammate, noting,

"We have played so much with Ojha; did we see any energy in him."

According to Ojha, Rohit's innings showcased his adaptability to the challenging circumstances. He mentioned,

"The situation was grim. When he started, he knew they were bowling well, they were bowling good lengths, so he gave them respect. However, after that, the way he kept driving the game, he tactfully took every step."

Despite Afghanistan's commendable performance, including fifties from top-order batters Gulbadin Naib, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Ibrahim Zadran, the match ended in a tie. The closely contested game progressed to a double super over, ultimately won by India in the second super over, securing a 3-0 series victory.
