The business end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is here and every game is a virtual knockout. Gujarat Titans (GT) who are still not out of the tournament, mathematically, will host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday, May 10.

CSK, who are fourth and can still potentially finish in the top 2 will come into the game with only 2 wins in their last 5 game as opposed to GT's one win in the last five as they linger at the bottom of the table.

In their 6 head-to-head matches, the Titans and Super Kings have won three each, the latter coming at the top in the last 3 encounters. The two sides also famously met in the last ball thriller in the rain-affected 2023 final with CSK clinching the title.

When GT Last Met CSK

Putting CSK to bat first at their home, GT couldn't put a break to the host's opening partnership who scored 69 runs in the powerplay at the loss of Rachin Ravindra's wicket after a quick 46(20). They lost Ajinkya Rahane cheaply for 12(12), however, Gaikwad kept a healthy scoring rate before Shivam Dube went all guns blazing from the word go.

Shivam Dube top scored with 51 (23) followed by the openers who scored 46 each. Sameer Rizvi showed some promise with his 14(6) cameo as the yellow brigade finished 206/6.

Rashid Khan led GT's bowling attack with his 2 wickets while still going for 49 runs. Spencer Johnson, Sai Kishore and Mohit Sharma scalped a wicket each.

GT crumbled under pressure

While defending the total, Deepak Chahar looked fantastic in the opening spell where he dismissed captain, Shubman Gill at 8(5) followed by Wriddhiman Saha at 21(17). Gujarat only managed to score 43/2 in the powerplay.

Sai Sudarshan tried to do a repair job with 37(31) alongside David Miller who added 21(16) but they couldn't build longer partnerships as wickets kept tumbling.

The Titans finished at just 143/8 as Super Kings won the game with a 63-run margin. Tushar Deshpande was the pick of the bowlers with his 2/21. Chahar and Mustafizur Rahman shared 2 wickets each, conceding 28 and 30 runs respectively.

Shivam Dube was adjudged as the Player of The Match for his difference making 51 (23).
