As the excitement builds ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Rajasthan Royals fans have been treated to promising news from the team's initial net sessions, with young talent Riyan Parag making a strong impression through skilled and outstanding strokeplay.

Riyan Parag, a product of the Assam cricketing circuit, burst onto the IPL scene with Rajasthan Royals in 2019. Despite his youth, Parag has demonstrated maturity beyond his years.

However, after a couple of strong seasons, Parag entered a phase of struggle and constant failures, after which many called him overrated.

Nevertheless, as Riyan Parag matured further as a batter, results followed. The batter is coming off a stellar Ranji Trophy season, where he scored two centuries for his side.

While Assam couldn't advance deep into the tournament, a rejuvenated Riyan Parag joined Rajasthan Royals pre-season camp ahead of the impending IPL season. The Assam batter participated in his first practice session earlier today and dazzled his teammates with impressive strokeplay.

Riyan initially faced spinners to practise power-hitting. He later switched bats to face fast bowlers and was equally impressive. Parag practised both aerial and ground shots to include a wide range of variations in his hitting arsenal.

As a finisher, Parag was mostly focused on hitting the ball hard and concluded the session on a positive note.

Parag will continue to be a finisher for Rajasthan Royals this year as well. His all-round abilities made him a key contributor when he first arrived into the scene.

Despite a couple of disheartening stints, Riyan Parag is committed to bounce back and contribute to RR's success.

Notably, RR will kick start its IPL 2024 season campaign against LSG on March 24 at home at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
