As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 approaches, the 10 teams are ramping up their preparations, with players eagerly joining their teams ahead of the highly anticipated season opener on March 22.

The Delhi Capitals' opener, David Warner, joined the team in Delhi on Tuesday, March 19. He received a special welcome from the staff, who were seen doing the Pushpa celebration, something the Australian batter is now known for.

David Warner's participation in IPL 2024 was in doubt after he was ruled out of the third T20 match against New Zealand due to injury. His recovery period raised concerns about whether he would be fit for the upcoming season.

The 37-year-old assumed the role of captain in Rishabh Pant's absence last year. However, his performance with the bat, particularly his strike rate, was below par last season. He will be looking for a better outing this time around, especially with the burden of captaincy off his shoulders.

The Delhi Capitals will kick off their campaign against the Punjab Kings on March 23 in Mohali. Their captain, Rishabh Pant, who has been sidelined for over a year, will make his comeback as captain in this match.
