Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill got reunited with his national teammate Virat Kohli ahead of their impending IPL 2024 faceoff at Bengaluru on May 3. The Gujarat Titans franchise even shared an excerpt of their brief interaction after their pre-game training session.

Virat Kohli catches up with Shubman Gill

A seemingly relaxed Virat Kohli was approached by Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill at RCB’s dressing room on May 3. Notably, Gill was making his way to the dressing room from a Gujarat Titans training session to meet his national teammate.

During their interaction, Kohli playfully asked the 24-year-old if he was done with his practice.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill last featured together for Team India during their three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan in January this year. While Kohli was recently selected in India’s 15-player squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies next month, Gill was selected among the travelling reserves.

On May 4, the two cricketers will be facing each other at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bengaluru.

Under the leadership of Gill, the Gujarat Titans franchise has secured four wins and six defeats from their 10 league fixtures so far. As of now, they are placed at number eight on the IPL 2024 points table.

The RCB group, on the other hand, is placed at the bottom of the 10-team points table with just three wins from 10 games. Kohli, who held the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ for a major part of the ongoing season, was recently toppled by CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. The match against Gujarat Titans will also provide Kohli a chance to reclaim the title of the leading run-scorer of the season.
