More troubles are on the way for Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw as the Mumbai Magistrate court directs the police force to launch an inquiry into a molestation case filed against the cricketer by social media influencer Sapna Gill.

Prithvi Shaw, sidelined with injury setbacks, first grabbed headlines when a physical brawl took place between him and a group of people outside a pub in Andheri, Mumbai.

Social media influencer Sapna Gill allegedly destroyed Shaw’s car parked outside after the latter refused to take selfies. She was arrested on the charges of vandalisation but was released on bail later.

However, Gill walked on the path of revenge and approached the Airport police station to file a case of molestation against Prithvi Shaw. After the police refused to lodge a case stating that lack of substantial evidence, the influence moved to the magistrate court.

And the latest update suggests that Metropolitan Magistrate S C Tayde has ordered police personnel to launch an inquiry into Gill’s allegations and submit a report of the same by June 19.

While court refused action against police forces for denying filing of an FIR, Prithvi Shaw’s troubles are set to increase.

Just when he finally fetched a comeback game for Delhi Capitals this IPL 2024 season, getting embroiled in such controversies will only hamper his image.

That being said, police have so far been unable to find evidence of molestation against Prithvi Shaw.

The witnesses inside the pub and CCTV footage indicate Sapna Gill and her friends were intoxicated when they approached the batter for pictures and then later went on to attack him with a baseball bat. So, a ray of hope exists for Prithvi Shaw.
