They will add a lot of balance to the Indian team: Ravi Shastri on Jadeja and Axar

Axar's batting was one of the biggest positives for India in the ODI series

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has lavished praise on India's two premier spin all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. 

While commentating during the first T20I between India and West Indies, Shastri pointed out that Jadeja has immensely improved himself as a cricketer, realizing his true potential. 

"Jadeja has improved vastly. He has realized his potential," Shastri said.

Regarding Axar Patel, the legendary Indian cricketer opined that the 28-year-old has finally done justice to his batting talent on this tour. 

Shastri, who represented India in 230 international matches, addressed both players as fine batting talents and expected them to bring the much-needed balance into India's white-ball teams.  

"I think, on this tour, even Axar Patel has realized that he wasn't doing justice to his potential as a batsman. Both of these players have a lot of talent when it comes to the batting department. They will add a lot of balance to the Indian team if they continue in this fashion."

Since debuting in 2008, Jadeja has established himself as India's first-choice spin all-rounder across formats. However, in his absence, Axar Patel shone brilliantly in the ODI series, particularly with the bat, scoring 85 runs, including a match-winning 35-ball 64 in the second ODI.
