Veteran all-rounder Sunil Narine's electrifying all-round performance lit up the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag, propelling Kolkata Knight Riders to a thumping 106-run win over Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.

Narine joins Russell in bagging most 'Player of the Match' awards for KKR

Narine, starring with both bat and ball, clinched the 'Player of the Match' award, marking his 14th such honour for KKR and tying with Andre Russell for the franchise's most POTM awards.

From the get-go, Sunil Narine set the stage ablaze with some attacking batting. Opening the innings, he launched a blistering assault as he reached his fifty of just 21 balls and raced to 85 off just 39 deliveries, missing out on a potential century. 

His onslaught provided a rock-solid foundation for the middle order, setting the tone for KKR's colossal total.


But Narine wasn't finished. With the ball in hand, he spun a web that the Capitals batsmen found too hot to handle. His economical spell of 1/29 in four overs put the brakes on DC's chase, ensuring a KKR victory by a margin as wide as the Caribbean Sea.

This latest masterclass saw Narine join the ranks of KKR royalty, matching Andre Russell's record for the most POTM awards within the franchise.

Behind this illustrious duo, KKR mentor and former captain Gautam Gambhir holds the third spot with 10 awards, followed by Yusuf Pathan, who won seven such awards during his time with the KKR team.

Meanwhile, Narine's all-round dominance not only highlighted his viral role in KKR's arsenal but also highlighted the West Indies' rich legacy in the T20 format.
