Rohit Sharma Supports Children Eye Care; Shares Beautiful Moments With Young Kids

Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, on a break from his sporting commitments, took to the field for a noble cause on Saturday. Collaborating with global eyewear titan, Oakley, and the philanthropic OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, Rohit shone a spotlight on the importance of accessible vision care.

In a comprehensive event rolled out in Gurugram, an impressive turnout of about 1,000 students, aged between 10 and 15, underwent a visual acuity assessment. Those pinpointed with vision impairments were granted custom-made Oakley eyeglasses, tailored meticulously to their prescription needs.
After the clinic, Rohit engaged with the attendees and narrated tales from his own journey. The Indian veteran pointed out the significance of clear vision and encouraged the youngsters to chase their dreams. He also participated in numerous sports activities with the children.
“I am honoured to be a part of this empowering initiative by Oakley and OneSight. The initiative is in the right direction towards helping create awareness about vision correction, especially among children. The future belongs to our children and timely access to vision care and correction plays an important role in building and securing their future. I am grateful to be doing my part in being able to make a difference in our community with Oakley and OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation,” said Rohit at the event.
On the cricketing front, the Indian team is gearing up for Asia Cup 2023. Led by Rohit, the team is set to kick off its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in what promises to be a thrilling encounter on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
