Mithali Raj Attends Prana Pratishtha In Ayodhya With Badminton Star Saina Nehwal

Former Indian captain Mithali Raj was spotted at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22. The women’s cricketing legend expressed her excitement over attending the high-profile religious event, and claimed that she was happy to be a part of the “celebration”.


Mithali Raj visits Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony

Former Indian women’s captain Mithali Raj was one of the many Indian cricketing personalities who attended the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.

While speaking with ANI, the 41-year-old expressed her excitement by saying that she has been waiting for the ceremony for a long time. She said: “We all wanted this for a very long time. It's just a calling to be here on this big occasion and it's a celebration and we are just happy to be a part of this celebration.”

Apart from Mithali Raj, active Indian women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was also invited for the Ram Mandir ceremony by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Former and active players like Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble, MS Dhoni, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja were among other cricketing personalities, from the men’s division, who received their respective invitations.

Players like Jadeja and Kohli will soon be joining the Indian squad shortly after the ceremony owing to team’s upcoming five-match Test series against England. The first of the five Tests is set to commence from January 25 onwards at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
