Chapman & Mitchell Power Kiwis To A Resounding Victory

Chasing a stiff target of 307 posed by Scotland, openers Martin Guptill (53-ball 47) and Fin Allen (48-ball 50) got the Black Caps off to a dazzling start.

The duo forged a 78-run stand for the opening wicket before Hamza Tahir drew the first blood for the hosts to send Allen back to the pavilion for a 50.

Guptill then teamed up with the wicket-keeper batter Dane Cleaver (37-ball 32) to steady the smooth ship of the Kiwis.

Mark Chapman and Daryl Mitchell went bonkers with the bat and shared an unbeaten 175-run stand for the fourth wicket to take their side home with seven wickets in hand and more than four overs to spare.

Chapman showed no mercy on the Scottish bowlers as he took them to the cleaners and smashed them all over the park to score a magnificent century. His unbeaten knock of 101 runs was studded with six boundaries and seven maximums.

Michael Leask & Matthew Cross Middle-Order Fightback

Earlier in the first phase of the game, the Scots were skittled out for 306 runs in 49.4 overs, courtesy of Michael Bracewell and Jacob Duffy's brilliance with the ball.

Leask played a sensational knock of 55-ball 85 before Jacob Duffy got him off a short ball.

The 31-year-old got decent support from the likes of Matthew Henry Cross (53) and Mark Watt (31) as Scotland breached the 300-run mark before getting folded for 306 in 49.4 overs.

Brief Scores:

Scotland: 306/10 (49.4)

M Alexander Leask 85 (55), M Cross 53 (58); Michael Bracewell 3-43 (10), Jacob Duffy 3-52 (7.4)

New Zealand: 307/3 (45.5 Overs)

Mark Chapman 101 (75)*, Daryl Mitchell 74 (62)*; Michael Leask 2-46 (8)
