Jofra Archer To Be Released Before IPL Auctions 2024?

One of the two most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians have not been up to their reputation in the last couple of seasons. In the IPL 2022, Mumbai didn't even reach the qualifiers as their new team after the mega auctions 2022 mainly consisted the youngsters. And due to the unavailability of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer, the franchise could not perform well.
Mumbai Indians did have a decent IPL 2023 as they made it to the playoffs stage and even knocked Lucknow out of the contest. Jofra Archer was back playing competitive cricket but after a few games, he picked up a strain in his elbow and was ruled out again.
MI medical team to assess Archer's condition before IPL Auctions
Even though the English speedster is travelling everywhere with the England team and continuing his rehab, no one is sure about when he is going to make a return to competitive cricket. Now that we approach the Auctions for the IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians will be assessing him and taking a further decision.
In the five games that Jofra Archer featured, he did not perform up to the expectations from the MI fans and even the Mumbai Indians team. But now that he is under rehab for a while, if he would be totally fit by the IPL 2024, the MI management will stick with him for sure.
Jofra archer is also a part of other franchises owned by the Mumbai Indians and the management was looking to send him a contract with truckloads of money. But if he does not get fit soon, the MI family would look to release him which is the reason they are assessing him in the first place before the Auctions, so they can find a suitable replacement.
