I've hit six 6s in an over. I've broadcasted while six 6s were being hit in an over: Ravi Shastri

For the recent fanatics of Indian cricket, Ravi Shastri would probably be one of the highly recognised head-coach of the National team, thanks to the achievements made by the team under his guidance in several overseas series.

But for a few cricket fanatics, he is not just known as a head coach. He is also known for having a long-lasting association with commentary; before being the head coach. From the epic finish by MS Dhoni in 2011 World Cup Final to Yuvraj Singh's swashbuckling six sixes in an over in the 2007 T20 World Cup, Shastri's commentary has been the common thing.

As he was the commentator for Yuvraj Singh's highlighting sixes moment off Stuart Broad's bowling, a handful of fans are familiar that even Ravi Shastri has achieved the feat of six sixes in an over. However, after creating that feat, Ravi Shastri's mother got this news through a Bhelpuri wala

With several memorable moments, Ravi Shastri comprehends a part of his journey as a Player, Commentator and Coach.

As the former Indian coach turned 60, he had mentioned his state of mind as a batter; before achieving that feat. He said, "Now first-class cricket is different from white-ball cricket. You know till, that 4th six was hit in that game against Baroda, you know I wasn't even thinking six 6s. The moment the fifth one was hit, it was probably the biggest of the lot because it went off the ground at the Wankhede. Then I saw all my teammates along with the side screen, and then I realised that there is an opportunity to hit six sixes."

"I knew very clearly that this guy's head is muddled now. I am the favourite here to get it. All I have to do is guess right. So I anticipated moving a little bit down the leg side thinking "create a space here, where if he bowls here, I can smash him down the ground. If he bowls here, he goes here. I guessed wrong; actually because when I went here, he went wide, but because of my height. I could reach out and flat bat it to the side screen for six," added Shastri.

After hitting six sixes in an over, he had also achieved the feat of the fastest double-century in first-class cricket.

When asked about his commentary moments while Yuvraj Singh's feat in the 2007 T20 World Cup, he cited the detailed attention he had paid to that 19th over by Stuart Broad.

"I go into my state of mind having hit six 6s myself, trying to anticipate what must be in the mind of the bowler and the batter. You know there was an exchange of words (between Yuvraj Singh and Andrew Flintoff), it had rattled and needled Yuvraj. The stage was set for something special to happen, and it started. The first one went for six, the second one went for six, the third one went for six, and David Lloyd jumped out of his seat and took off. What happened after that was sheer mayhem," stated Shastri during the latest episode of CRED's The Long Game.

Just after the fourth six was slashed over backward point, Shastri would pipe up on air: "He has the licence here to go for the full monty: six sixes!"

"When the 5th six was hit, again David taking off, with me of course. And I knew, and I said it in the commentary. I think Yuvraj is the favourite to hit a six here". The next one goes massive for six, and that's when you take off. No one knew what was going to happen. It takes fierce concentration," added Shastri.

On September 19, 2007, Yuvraj Singh became the second batter to hit sixes in an over in international cricket history.
