If the rain gods don't permit the final clash between Chennai and Gujarat, the BCCI has kept a reserve day for the biggest game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, to be played at Ahmedabad on Sunday.

What happens if rain doesn't stop in IPL Final?

As per the rules, the IPL 2023 Final can start as late as 9:35 PM without any deduction of the overs, and the cut-off time for a five-over per side contest is 12:05 AM IST. However, whether there is a Super Over kept or not is still unclear.

It is still pelting down at Ahmedabad with no signs of the rain stopping. And as per the weather forecast, the showers are predicted to get more intense between 8 to 9 PM, but the sky could get clear after 9 PM IST.

And the forecast for Monday isn't pleasing either as there is a 60% chance of rain on May 29 at Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, it is understood that if the game could get underway on Sunday or Monday, then Gujarat Titans will bag the silverware by finishing higher on the table.

Nevertheless, after almost three hours of downpours, the rain has finally stopped at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with the umpires to have an official inspection soon. Reportedly, we will have a 19-over per-side game if the game can start by 9:45 PM IST. The match will reduce to a 15-over fixture if it begins by 10:30 PM. It will be a 12-over affair for 11 PM and a 9-over one for 11:30 PM.

Unfortunately, the showers again started to pour down after a 15-minute halt. And after a long waiting game, the game got postponed to the reverse day as the IPL 2023 Final will now take on Monday.
