India's T20 WC Squad To Be Announced On 'This' Day; Agarkar Set To Meet Rohit

BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar is all set to meet with India captain Rohit Sharma during the IPL 2024 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Delhi next Saturday, April 27. 

Following this meeting, the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 will be announced. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set May 1 as the cut-off date for the squad announcement.

Rohit and Agarkar to meet for World Cup selection

Currently on vacation in Spain, Agarkar will return in time for the meeting in Delhi. According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Agarkar, along with Rohit and the rest of the selection committee, will discuss India's 15-member squad for the World Cup during the DC-MI game, scheduled for April 27 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Rohit will be present in Delhi during this time, while Agarkar is expected to arrive in the capital city on April 27 or 28.

Players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav are all expected to be included in the squad.

Key decisions will be made as there are still uncertainties regarding a few spots in the World Cup squad.

During an appearance on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast with Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, Rohit was questioned about the composition of India's T20 World Cup squad and the reported meeting. Surprisingly, Rohit said that he had not participated in any such meeting.

Despite this denial, the latest report suggests that Rohit will indeed meet with Agarkar to finalize the World Cup squad.
