The ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) saw a dramatic last-ball end, where Islamabad United went on to clinch their third PSL title.

The winner of the PSL, Islamabad United received a cheque of 14 crore PKR which is around 4.15 crore in the Indian rupees, which is way too less than what the IPL winning team receives.

Just a few days back, Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first-ever title in the form of Women's Premier (WPL 2024) and they received the prize money of six crores - which is also more than that of PSL's prize money for the winning team.

BCCI is known to be the richest cricket board of all, thus the prize money in leagues like IPL and WPL is way more than that of any other leagues of the world.

On the other hand, PCB is not among the richest boards, which is the reason why they are always in the news related to players' salary and budget issues.

Here's a comparison between PSL, WPL & IPL' s Prize money

While the winning team of the PSL 9 received 14 crore PKR, the runners-up received a cheque of PKR 5.6 crore which is around 1.6 crore in INR.

However, the winning team of the WPL Season 2 won the prize money of INR 6 crore, while the runners-up were awarded with INR 3 crore. When it comes to the Indian Premier League, the winning team got the prize of INR 20 crore and the runner-up were awarded with 13 crore.

Talking about comparisons on individual rewards, Imad Wasim who won the Player of the Match award in the PSL 9 Final, received a cheque of PKR 5 lakh, which is around INR 1.48 lakh. However, the POTM of WPL, Sophie Molineux got INR 2.5 lakh and in IPL 2023, Devon Conway got INR 5 lakh.

The other awards such as Batter of the Tournament, Bowler of the Tournament, Leading Run Scorer, Leading Wicket-taker, Emerging Player of the Tournament, All-rounder of the Tournament and Bowler and Batter of the Tournament were all prized at PKR 35 lakh in the PSL season 9, which is around INR 10.36 Lakh.

Meanwhile, the same category awards at the WPL season 2 were prized at INR 5 lakh each. Compared to the Indian Premier League 2023, similar awards were prized at 10 lakh each.
