Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya made his return to competitive cricket after attaining full recovery. Back in October last year, the cricketer slumped to an ankle injury during a 2023 World Cup clash against Bangladesh at home.

As of now, the cricketer was spotted taking field for a DY Patil T20 tournament match as the captain of the Reliance 1 team. He is currently on course to make his return to mainstream cricket through next month’s IPL 2024 season for the Mumbai Indians franchise.

Hardik Pandya returns to the field ahead of IPL 2024

Hardik Pandya made a sensational return to the playing field as captain of the Reliance 1 unit in the DY Patil T20 2024 competition. On February 26, i.e., roughly a month prior to the launch of the IPL 2024 season, the star all-rounder turned up at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to face the BPCL team in the opening match of the local T20 event.

Pandya has been stepping up with some intense training sessions on the field for the past few weeks in a bid to attain full recovery. The cricketer is lined up to lead the Mumbai Indians franchise in IPL 2024, and the premier Indian T20 competition itself serves as a prelude to the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies in June this year.

Hardik Pandya to captain Reliance 1 in DY Patil T20

Notably, Hardik Pandya’s Reliance 1 team for the opening DY Patil T20 game also features the likes of several of his Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 teammates like Piyush Chawla, Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera and Akash Madhwal.

The IPL 2024 season is slated to commence on March 22. Mumbai Indians, under Hardik Pandya, will be playing their first game on March 24 with an away match against Gujarat Titans.
