One of the two triple centurions in Test Cricket for India, out-of-favour batter Karun Nair has largely been out of the side for no particular reason. However, he has managed to sign another deal with English county side Northamptonshire after his last season's heroics with the bat.

The 32-year-old will feature in a total of seven County Championship Division Two games this season, with the first one beginning on 5th April, as the side will hope to get a promotion.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Northamptonshire for another stint of County Championship cricket. Our aim is to win games and get promoted and I’m excited to get stuck in with the bat and help the team secure victories,” Karun stated.

Karun was the find last year for the Northants as he managed a half-century on debut against Warwickshire while rocking a 150 against Surrey at the Oval.

“I would like to thank the coach and captain for believing in me and giving me this wonderful opportunity. I was really happy with my form last season, and hopefully, I can get going right away and put big runs on the board," he added.

In the three matches last season, Karun scored 249 runs at an average of 83. However, his solid performance could not save the side from getting relegated from Division One. Nair is currently involved in India's domestic tournament, Ranji Trophy, for his side Karnataka.
