The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) have sacked Delhi's senior selection committee following the team's innings and 214-run loss to Saurashtra under three days in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season on Thursday. The selection committee included former Team India selector Gagan Khoda, Mayank Sidhana, and Anil Bhardwaj.

The decision comes after the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) approved DDCA president Rohan Jaitley's letter to the Apex Council and CAC about the Khoda-led committee's misbehaviour towards Delhi cricket.

Speaking to The Indian Express, DDCA director Shyam Sharma confirmed the same.

“The selection committee has been sacked by the CAC today."

Delhi, with two losses and as many draws, is placed in seventh position in Elite Group B and faces a chance of relegation as well.

In response to Jaitley's letter, CAC chief Nikhil Chopra, who himself played from Delhi, lashed out at the selectors and proposed to disband the panel.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sidhana, a senior and Under-25 Delhi selector, walked out of the meeting after a fallout with Khoda and secretary Siddharth Sahib Singh.

Head coach KP Bhaskar, however, has pinned the blame on non-Delhi selectors for the team's poor showing this season.

Delhi will meet Andhra Pradesh on January 19 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in their next Ranji Trophy 2022-23 match.
