Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to a hamstring injury. The 32-year-old returned to Australia last week after facing a sideline in his right hamstring. 

As per reports, the all-rounder will be going through a recovery from a partial tear in his right hamstring to be fit for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played from June 1, 2024, in the United States of America (USA) and the Caribbean. 

Marsh was out of action after the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Australian all-rounder missed the next two games as well against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.

As per recent report by Cricbuzz, the Australian hard-hitting has been ruled out of the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league.

"I don't think he'll be coming back," Ponting said as quoted by Cricbuzz. "There's a certain cut off point with replacement players. Cricket Australia were keen to have him at home to start his recovery process and we sent him back as soon as we could."

"They've been managing his rehab for a couple of weeks now. I spoke to him the other day and it seems it's taken a little longer than he first thought to get over it. I don't think the T20 World Cup would be an issue."


He is all set to lead Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024, and as the marquee tournament is knocking at the door cricket Australia immediately called him back. But his getting ruled out of the entire season is a tremendous blow for Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals. 

In the ongoing cash-rich league, Mitchell Marsh has scored 61 runs in four games for DC. He scored 20 in the game against Punjab Kings and 23, 18 and a two-ball duck in the next three respective games. 

Delhi Capitals have faced injury concerns in the ongoing IPL season. Earlier South African bowler, Lungi Ngidi, was also ruled out of the tournament. David Warner and Ishant Sharma also missed a few games for the team due to injury concerns.
