As per a report by Indian Express, the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) has allocated over Rs 500 crore to the ten official venues of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Each venue is set to receive Rs 50 crore for the purpose of renovating their respective infrastructures.

The designated venues for the tournament are Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Dharamsala, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Kolkata. Additionally, the warm-up matches will be held in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati.

“We relaid the whole surface of the stadium and we did a makeover of VVIP and hospitality boxes too. We hired the best expert for the relaying process. We wanted to ensure we have good drainage facilities and got grass from abroad. We changed a few seats and painted the stands. There was a leakage problem, we fixed that too. We wanted to ensure that after rain, the game should start as soon as possible,” Arun Dhumal told The Indian Express.

“The process of infrastructure upgradation has already begun including a new outfield, upgrading to new LED lighting, renovation of the corporate boxes, and renovated new toilets,” Mumbai Cricket Association president Amol Kale said.

In preparation for the ICC ODI World Cup matches scheduled for October and November, several renovation proposals have been put forth for the host locations. Mumbai will have new floodlights and corporate boxes, Lucknow will feature a new field with imported grass, Kolkata will have renovated dressing rooms, Dharamsala will boast a new outfield with imported grass, Pune will have a brand-new temporary roof, and Delhi will receive upgraded restrooms and a new ticketing system. These improvements aim to enhance the infrastructure and overall experience for both players and spectators during the World Cup matches.

The ICC World Cup is all set to begin from 5 October where England would meet Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
