Rohit Sharma has been a great servant of Indian cricket for more than 15 years now, and has been a legend in white-ball cricket. In the last few years, he has improved his red-ball game too, and has been scoring runs consistently.

On the opening day of the third Test at Rajkot, he once again showed his class by holding fort when wickets crumbled early in the day and in the process became the fourth-leading run-scorer for India across formats.

He surpassed Sourav Ganguly who had 18575 runs in international cricket for India and is now only behind Rahul Dravid (24, 208), Virat Kohli (26733*), Sachin Tendulkar (34357).

In recent times, Rohit Sharma has scored runs in difficult conditions in Test cricket and especially in India, he has been one of India's top batter. His ability to score briskly sets him apart as well, which makes him an x-factor for India.

Despite India losing three wickets early, Rohit did not go to his shell and scored fifty in the first session itself, and then consolidated it in the second session. India would be hoping that Rohit Sharma delivers consistently from hereon in the series as whenever he score runs, India more or less end up in a strong position.
