It has been a nightmarish start for the Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Capitals have played two matches, and are yet to open their account, losing both the matches.
The team has failed in all three departments and the poor form of the Indian players is a cause of worry for the DC team management. It is well understood that Pant will take some time to get to his best, considering the state of injury. However, the other Indian players have also failed to live up to the expectations.
In the first two matches, the DC team have made a baffling move by dropping Prithvi Shaw and bringing in Ricky Bhui. Bhui was given a chance to cement his place at number 3, but he has failed to deliver the goods for his franchise.
Expect the team management to rectify their decision and bring in Shaw in place of Bhui. That would mean dropping Mitch Marsh at 3 and placing Shaw alongside David Warner at the top.
The other notable change they could make is drop Anrich Nortje. The South African pacer was taken to the cleaners by Riyan Parag in the last match and he looked out of the touch. However, given the aura that Nortje carries and his excellent previous performances for DC, it is unlikely that he'll be dropped for the upcoming clash against CSK.
