Quetta Gladiators are set to lock horns with Karachi Kings in Match 22 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, March 6. Positioned comfortably in second place on the points table, the Gladiators have emerged as formidable contenders with four victories from six outings, marred only by a single defeat and one match abandoned due to rain.

Quetta Gladiators seek to extend winning streak vs Karachi Kings

Their most recent clash against Islamabad United ended in a washout which must have left the team itching to return to the field after an extended break.

Quetta Gladiators will be keen to ride the wave of their current form into the upcoming match. At the vanguard of their batting lineup, Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel have been the linchpins, displaying exceptional form throughout the tournament.

The team's backbone, its middle order, features Khawaja Nafay, captain Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Sherfane Rutherford. With the exception of Sarfaraz, this ensemble has been firing on all cylinders.

Akeal Hosein has proven to be a jack-of-all-trades, making waves with the new ball and chipping in with crucial runs, securing his position at number seven. Sohail Khan's lacklustre performance against Karachi has put his place in jeopardy, paving the way for Mohammad Amir's inclusion.

Furthermore, despite a pricey spell, Mohammad Wasim Jr's wealth of experience grants him a reprieve. Rounding out the squad, spinner Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq have been weaving their magic and the duo will retain their place in the Quetta Gladiators’ playing XI in all likelihood.
