It's time for the Ashes 2023! The oldest and one of the most intense rivalry of Test cricket is back. England are all set to take on the World Test Champions Australia at their own backyard in the five-Test match series fondly called as 'The Ashes'. Both teams have some big superstars in their squad and we can expect some high-quality action when the first Test match begins on 16th of June at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

England have been in red-hot form under the leadership of Ben Stokes with Bazball tactics creating lot of buzz.  Australia, on the other hand, are coming into the Ashes on the back of a scintillating win over India in the WTC Final and would be itching to dominate England to stamp their authority.

So, let's now see the top 3 England players to watch out for in the Ashes 2023:

Joe Root

Joe Root is one of the greatest cricketer ever to play for England. He has been absolutely top-notch in Test and ODI cricket for over a decade now. The best thing about Root is that he is well-equipped to tackle varied conditions and would be looking to make a big impact in this Ashes 2023.

He has been in stellar form in the last three years and has adapted to the bazball tactics swiftly by scoring runs at a rapid rate. He was the leading run-scorer for England in the 2021 Ashes with 322 runs. He also has over 2000 runs against Australia and being a high-pedigree player, we can expect him to deliver in this Ashes against a quality Australian bowling attack.

James Anderson

Jimmy Anderson is a legend and there is no doubting that. The 40-year-old is still going strong and need 15 wickets to become the first pacer to take 700 wickets. However, it would be interesting to see how Anderson goes about his business in a long five-Test series. He would probably not play all the games but he is coming after a long rest, so he would be looking to start off with a bang.

Anderson is a different beast altogether in English conditions and has 429 wickets in England. Also, both Warner and Khawaja don't have a great record in English conditions, so expect Anderson to produce some memorable spells.

Jonny Bairstow

He is another superstar who will be a player to watch out for in the Ashes 2023. He was in stellar form before he got injured in September 2022 and was one of the pillars of Bazball's initial success.

Bairstow made a comeback against Ireland earlier in June where he did not get to bat but he has the knack of delivering under pressure and is certainly a player to watch out for in Ashes 2023. Bairstow was also brilliant in his comeback game in the 2021 Ashes where he scored a fantastic century in the Sydney under pressure.

These are the three players to watch out from England team in Ashes 2023 who could be the pillars for England against the mighty Aussies with their skills and experience.
